Any items that have been worked on by jewelers other than our own are considered final sale and not returnable. Vintage wedding bands that have been resized are final sale - not returnable. Vintage engagement rings and replica engagement rings that have been resized by one of our jewelers may be returned - but are subject to a $100 restocking fee for gold rings and a $150 restocking fee for platinum rings. Work or adjustments done to an item by anyone other than one of our Jewelers (sizing, setting, polishing, repairs, etc.) will void the return policy. If you wish to return an item, you must contact Leigh Jay Nacht, Inc. prior to sending the item in order to obtain return authorization. Returns must be accompanied by a copy of the original invoice, any GIA reports and Appraisal documents, the entire gifting box (which held the item itself) and a written statement from the buyer of why the item is being returned. Upon receipt and review of the item we will refund the purchase price (minus any - if applicable - restocking fees as mentioned above) within 10 business days.
RETURN AUTHORIZATION FROM LEIGH JAY NACHT IS REQUIRED FOR RETURNS. ARTICLES SENT WITHOUT RETURN AUTHORIZATION WILL BE REFUSED AND RETURNED TO THE SHIPPER.
Please be sure to fully insure the parcel upon return to prevent loss. Leigh Jay Nacht, Inc. is not responsible for returns that are lost or misplaced by the postal/shipping handler.
If you have ordered a ring without requesting sizing, you may send it back to us for your first sizing at no charge. Please contact us for assistance in domestic shipping. You may ship the item to us without our assistance, but we are not responsible for this expense.
If you have ordered a ring and have already had it sized once (or more) you may send it back to us for a subsequent sizing at an additional charge. All of our replica settings are made to order for the customer. Production is 3-4 weeks. If a setting (replica or vintage) is shipped without a center stone, it may be returned under the same policy that is applied to our engagement rings, vintage wedding bands, and finished jewelry. All jewelry must be returned in the condition in which it was received for the return policy to be honored. *Please note that if you are having another jeweler set the ring to be sure that the jeweler is very experienced in setting stones to ensure it is properly seated and secure in the ring. Because we cannot control or guarantee the quality of work performed on our rings by outside parties - having other jewelers work on our items (setting, sizing, polishing, etc.) will void our personal guarantee of quality. All jewelry that is worn on a daily basis should be checked at least every six months to make sure that the setting is sound and that damages from daily wear and tear are fixed promptly.
Settings must be requested in specific sizes when you order. Settings that are made to allow for resizing ordered in sizes larger than 8 and 4.5 or smaller are subject to a non-refundable surcharge depending on the metal they were crafted in and the amount of variance from the 4.5-8 size range. there any guarantees?
We have a full 100% money back guarantee on all our in-Stock jewelry. The period is 30 days and if begins from the day you receive the ring. This way, you can bring the ring to an outside appraiser for evaluation or just make sure it is the right thing for you. If you decide to return the ring - for whatever reason - we will give you a full refund if it is within the 30 day return period with the ring returned in the condition it was received. If for some reason you are short on time, just call and we will make sure you are taken care of. We only want you to keep the ring if you are 100% satisfied.
Like anything worn or used daily - a ring is subject to the normal wear and tear of everyday activities. Some people are very hard on their jewelry, others wear things more gently. Over time, a prong may loosen, the ring could get a dent with a heavy blow, etc. These things are not due to poor workmanship, it's just normal wear and tear. We recommend that people have their jewelry checked every 6 months (or more) or so for security and cleaning. That way, little issues can be easily nipped in the bud. Many jewelry stores will do this for free. If your ring ever needs repair - you may send it back to us and we will do the repairs at minimal charge.
If your Item has been worked on by jewelers other than our own, we cannot attest to the quality of the work and it will void our personal guarantee.
Please note that - while we will always take in items we have sold for repairs - we do not work on items that we did not sell.
We do advise jewelry insurance and when you get your appraisal (provided on request with your purchase, included in your purchase price) you may use that document for the value - or your receipt. For information on procuring jewelry insurance, visit: http://www.perfectcircleinsurance.com/
is the cost for ring sizing?
First ring size is included in your purchase price. Sizing Vintage Wedding bands makes them final sale and not returnable. Returns on Vintage and Replica engagement rings are subject to a $50 restocking fee if the ring has been resized at the request of the customer. There is a surcharge for rings ordered over a size 8. Please inquire.
Reproduction rings and settings may be ordered in size increments as small as 1/8th of a size. Most of our vintage rings can be sized on request without difficulty - but not always. Please inquire if a vintage ring that you are interested in can be safely resized to your desired fit prior to ordering.
It is very important that you be certain of the finger size when you order your ring. When you place an order, you may request the size desired at checkout. If, after you submit your order, you change the requested size your order may be delayed and you will be subject to an additional fee. Subsequent sizings cost $40 - $150 depending on the nature of the sizing and the material of the ring. Please contact us to discuss altering the size of any ring.
If you have ordered you ring and have requested a specific size you may send it back to us for a subsequent sizing at an additional charge. Depending on the size and the composition of your ring, sizing is an additional $40 - $150. Please contact us for assistance in domestic shipping. You may ship the item to us without our assistance, but we are not responsible for this expense.
Our reproduction rings and most of our vintage items can be sized with no difficulty. Sizing Vintage wedding bands makes them final sale and not returnable - so make sure that you want to keep the ring prior to requesting sizing. Sizing vintage rings can result in a break in the pattern of the ring as shown on the website. You will be advised of this possibility when you purchase.
Please note that - while we will always take in items we have sold for repairs - we do not work on items that we did not sell.

The Laboratory of the Gemological Institute of America is the global gold standard for accuracy and ethics in diamond grading.
A lab report, however, is not the same as an appraisal. The GIA report does not state the value of the item, just the specifics of its cut, clarity, color, and carat weight. An appraisal for jewelry is a document created by a graduate gemologist and accredited appraiser so the owner of the item may insure the piece for the proper amount.
When we sell vintage rings with the original diamonds, we do not always submit the diamond for a GIA Laboratory report opting, instead, for an appraisal review conducted on the complete ring by a GIA certified gemologist for insurance purposes. The primary reasons for this are thus:
1. The GIA will not grade
a diamond unless it is loose from the setting. On occasion, pulling
the diamond from a vintage ring will ruin the setting. In such a case, a graduate gemologist can
ascertain a very close estimate grade of the diamond in the setting as well as the weight calculation ( it can never be guaranteed 100% exact as the setting can inhibit
full grading abilities). This, however, is accurate enough for insurance and pricing and will keep the vintage item pristine and intact.
2. On occassion, the cost for the service is prohibitive in proportion to the value of the diamond itself (for instance – if it is a small stone under .50 cts or a heavily included or dark color diamond, the cost of GIA report can add 10% - 20% to the total fee for the ring).
3. If a diamond in the ring is under .18 cts, the GIA will not do a full report (this is why the small diamonds set into the sides of the rings are never GIA certified).
If a client wants a GIA report
done on an uncertified diamond – provided that it can be removed from the setting
without damaging the ring – we can arrange for the service. It
will take 1-2 weeks and the cost runs between $65 - $350. This fee is not refundable and must be paid in full prior to submission for grading.
If an item is listed without an appraisal document and you would like one for insurance purposes, request that one be provided when you order your item. We will include one in the shipment. * Insurance companies require appraisals to be updated for market value every 2-5 years. Please contact us if you need an updated appraisal for insurance purposes.
Our primary appraisal services, United Gemological Laboratory (UGL) and Gemological Appraisal Laboratory of America, Inc (www.gemlab.com) - grade by very strict GIA standards. They are located only in New York City and we choose to use them for their adherence to the GIA grading system. Neither company are to be confused with the EGL laboratory, which is a completely separate, global company.

In order to
be legally considered an Antique in the United States, a piece of Jewelry
must be 100 years old or older. Our items are described accordingly. "Estate" is any item that
was previously owned. "Vintage" is a descriptive term for
types of estate jewelry from a particular era, such as "Art Deco",
"Art Nouveau", "Retro Moderne", "Victorian",
and "Edwardian". All items with the word "Reproduction" or "Replica" in description are new pieces crafted from one of our models. Our Reproduction pieces are made in our New York Workshop and are not for sale anywhere other than at Leigh Jay Nacht, Inc.
If you fall in love with a one-of-a-kind Estate ring and it has been sold it is not possible for us offer a replacement of the same style. While we have an extensive line of replica styles - we do not make one-off reproductions of vintage engagement rings. If we have an existing replica style than may be of interest - or another vintage ring of similar design currently in our inventory - we may suggest another ring of a similar look but an exact replacement is not possible. If the ring you like is a replica and it is out of stock, we can build one to order at any time with a modern brilliant or step-cut diamond. The price of the new ring will vary depending on the whether you want gold or platinum, the changing prices of diamonds and the quality and size of the diamond you select, but we will work with you to help fit your budget and aesthetic desires. All of our replicas are made from molds taken of vintage items, and not all sizes and shapes of stones can fit into every ring. Please call us to discuss special requests.
While we can often set different stones into our replica settings, offer hand engraving, and cast in 18k gold as a special order, we do not accept custom commissions as there is a strong possibility that the item will not turn out exactly as the customer hopes and are not returnable. While we have an extensive line of replica styles - we do not make one-off reproductions of vintage engagement rings.
While we sell most of the replica settings without the center stone, the vintage pieces are not for sale without the center stone. When we have a beautiful vintage original, we don't have the heart to break it up. *Many of our replica engagement rings that are not listed on the settings section are available for purchase as settings - but only if our jewelers set the center stone. This is in order to maintain quality and ensure that the center stone is seated properly and the prong work finished/embellished to achieve the desired look as seen online. We recommend this for all of our settings
We carry the classic styles in our showroom and can craft them in Platinum, Palladium, 14k gold and 18k gold. True Vintage bands and some specialty designs are available. We also carry the full line of Bands from Novell. Please contact us directly for more information.
When you purchase a vintage or Replica ring from our "Engagement Ring" Section, the ring you are purchasing is the complete item. When you purchase one of our replica settings -from the "Settings" section (and listed as a setting in the long description) - the side stones are included in the ring - but not the center stone. While we do not stock a large inventory of loose diamonds, we can procure a diamond or other gem to place in the setting. You may send us your stone for us to set by one of our master setters. You are welcome to have an outside party set your stone, but we prefer to set all our rings so we know it is done correctly. Setting a client's stone is $60.00 - $200 depending on the size, shape, and nature of the Gem.
*Several of our replica engagement rings not listed on the settings section are available for purchase as settings - but only if our jewelers set the center stone. This is to maintain quality and ensure that the finished ring is seated properly and embellished to achieve the desired look. We recommend this for all of our settings, but the rings listed in the settings section are available for direct purchase and should be able to be set by most skilled bench jewelers.

Do you have sales or discount your jewelry?
Our policy is to always sell our jewelry at a fair prices, so we do not run sales or negotiate on items. Rather than inflate our prices in order to give the illusion of a discount, we offer our customers the best value at all times.
We are a very small, family company and handle all of our production in house. We also handle all of our showroom and online sales and listings - another factor that lets us keep our operating costs and overhead manageable. While we make every effort to keep our list prices accurate and up to date, costs fluctuate based on availability and market factors and are subject to change without notice. On occassion, price and other information may be inaccurate due to system or human error. We reserve the right to cancel and refuse a sale made in the basis of an incorrect price. We sincerely regret any inconvenience and thank you in advance for your understanding.
Should an online customer attempt to make a purchase that falls within this provision we will immediately refund your payment and/or offer an alternate item in your price range.
We purchase all of our new diamonds from sellers who participate in the Kimberly Certification Process - established in 2003 to prevent diamond sales from financing the conflicts in Africa. All of our vintage diamonds are original to their rings and are not associated with modern conflicts.
sparkling and in excellent shape?
The best and most effective way to clean your diamond jewelry at home is with an ammonia and water 1:4 ratio solution (or, in a pinch - windex). Soak the ring for about 10-15 minutes (if it is very soiled - even longer), scrub the setting with a soft toothbrush, rinse with tepid water and blot dry. You should have your ring checked and cleaned by a jeweler every six months or so to make sure the prongs are secure and any minor damages can be addressed promptly. Please contact us at anytime if your ring needs repair. *Rings set with emeralds, pearls, turquoise, lapis, onyx, and crystal should not be cleaned with ammonia based solutions. Please consult us for care instructions.
If you have purchased an antique or vintage ring - Congratulations! You have a special piece of one of a kind jewelry. Before we sell a vintage ring, we make sure any visible flaws that need to be addressed are taken care of prior to sale so the ring is in good shape for wear. Should an issue occur within initial wear, please get in touch with us so we can see to repairs and adjustment promptly. Your vintage engagement ring is meant to give you a lifetime of enjoyment - and a little Tender Loving Care will go along way in making this happen. Fine jewelry of any kind - but especially of an older, more delicate piece- should be removed if you are doing heavy chemical cleaning, contact sports, and activities where your hands are likely to get abraded or knocked more so than usual. If you are very active, a platinum ring will endure your lifestyle better than a gold one - which can wear faster over time. Delicate filigree pieces from the Art Deco and Edwardian period that have survived over 80 years are a credit to fine manufacture and careful, thoughtful wear. Enjoy your vintage ring - and remember that it is a work of art!
Platinum, Gold, and diamond estate rings can be cleaned in the same manner as the replica rings. For a more gentle cleaning option of a very soiled ring - an overnight soak in a mild solution of castile soap and water is very effective. Scrub gently with a soft toothbrush after cleaning - rinse and blot dry. Have them checked every few months for security.
All of our replica and reproduction jewelry is made in our workshop in New York City. These are our designs - unique to our company. We are very proud of our quality and work closely with our bench jewelers to make sure each piece meets our high standards.
While we welcome all inquiries, we reserve the right to respectfully decline orders from companies and individuals whose primary interest is to purchase our products for the purpose of resale.
We are a sole retailer and we are only in New York City. Our pieces are not available anywhere else. Each piece of Leigh Jay Nacht, Inc. jewelry is a representation of our company as a whole. We want your ring to be a beautiful treasure that will make you smile every day.
