Exquisite Art Déco Camphor Glass Filigree Ring. Camphor glass is created by exposing crystal to hydrofluoric acid fumes. It was used in a variety of products in the Victorian era but hit its height in popularity in jewekry design during the Roaring 20s. Mostly used in big geometric plaques in necklaces and rings with filigree metalwork and set in the center with a diamond or pearl. This ring has an oval piece of camphor glass set in a filigree top measuring 19 x 15 mm, a "starburst" camphor glass crystal is set with a small diamond and accented with scrolling filigree detail along the open gallery and shoulders.
