Victorian Belcher Setting Engagement Ring #VR220719-3
Named for American jewelry designer Thomas Belcher, this type of setting was all the rage during the Victorian era. It's defining feature are the claw like prongs that are carved out of the shank of the ring, securing the diamond flush with the rest of the setting. This ring is particularly lovely with it's deep, scrolling engraving covering the majority of the ring . Set with a dazzling .39 carat, J color, VS2 clarity Old European cut diamond. Stamped with the makers mark of Allsop Brothers, Newark, NJ along with the inscription "D.W. to A.P." Made circa 1890s in 10k yellow gold. Currently a size 6 3/4 and may be resized.
