Victorian Buttercup Engagement Ring #VR220719-2

SKU: VR220719-2
Sale price$975.00
A very pretty Victorian era engagement ring in a "buttercup" design. The Victorians were very fond of floral motifs, and particularly the buttercup as it symbolized youth and liveliness. Crafted in 10k yellow gold, an Old European cut diamond rests within the prongs of a six-petal flower. The glittering diamond is 0.16ct, I color and SI1 clarity.  A floral trumpet shape adorns the diamond center, and the sides of the polished band feature flourishes of hand engraving. The makers mark for the manufacturer indicates it was made by Allsop Brothers, Newark, NJ, circa 1880s.
